L’ubiquitination est une modification post-traductionnelle qui joue un rôle primordial dans la régulation de plusieurs fonctions cellulaires. L’ubiquitination est un processus réversible dû à la présence des déubiquitinases. Notre objectif est de caractériser les fonctions biologiques et les mécanismes d’action des déubiquitinases impliquées dans la transcription et la réparation de l’ADN, deux processus dont la dérégulation joue un rôle fondamental dans le développement du cancer. Nous utilisons des approches de biochimie et de biologie moléculaire, à la fine pointe de la technologie, afin de caractériser les fonctions des déubiquitinases. Nos travaux permettent une meilleure compréhension des mécanismes moléculaires gouvernant le système ubiquitine. D’autre part, nos travaux devraient contribuer à l’identification de nouvelles cibles thérapeutiques pour traiter le cancer en médecine personnalisée.
